Some of the services I provide include:

Forensic accounting involves deep research into the meaning behind the numbers. Both standard accounting reports and more detailed job reports provide glimpses into the efficiencies of any organization. Understanding where the reports have validity and where they might be suspect and implementing corrective actions allow you to take control.

Forensic accounting, for remodeling companies, ties together accurate accounting data to the all-important accurate & reliable job cost data. Trusting the company gross profit margin as reflected in the profit/loss statement requires trusting individual job gross profit margin as reflected in job reports.

The success of any remodeling company relies on accurate, timely and complete numbers. 18 years of working with remodeling companies together with my intense interest in all the inter-related numbers makes financial review one of my most valued and valuable services.

Presentations, both for your company or your association:

Running your Business by the Numbers: understand how to develop and use vital numeric indicators in marketing and sales, production, human resources and ownership divisions of the company. Whether you are a sole proprietor, or part of a company of 100s of employees, the ability to develop and interpret a few indicators is powerful. (1 day)

Controlling your Growth: learn some subtle truths about the myths around growth. Understand the 10 major obstacles to successful growth and how to grow profitability. (1/2 day)

Hanging up the Toolbelt: company owners model their business in many ways. Two of the most common to Remodelers are the Craftsman model - where the owner does, and the Chamber of Commerce model - where the owner delegates. Find out which model you most approximate and the main contributors to success in either one. (1/2 day)

Process Mapping: the development of maps and flowcharts which show the correct steps in any process to produce a desired result. Such maps should include not only the chronological steps involved, but also the tools and forms, together with standard measurements of success. I'm currently working on mapping the Change Order, Job Intake and Punch List processes. Working with your Project Management employees and field employees we can develop standard maps for the way in which your company currently completes these vital areas. After understanding WHAT is done, then we can develop a map for WHAT SHOULD BE DONE.

If you are interested in any of the services mentioned here, or in discussing other ways in which I could be of help to your company, please send me an e-mail or phone me at (510) 847-0653.
